August 13, 2024
Winshop Software presents a commentary from its CEO, Michal Říha, on current trends in the implementation of self-service payment kiosks.
Winshop Software, a leading Czech supplier of information systems for the management of business organizations, was approached by Zboží&Prodej magazine to comment on the development and challenges of useing self-service payment kiosks from their perspective. Our CEO Michal Říha, who has been working in this field for many years and was behind the idea of WinShop Software to launch its own line of these kiosks in the near future, took the responsibility for the commentary.
Michal focused on two important issues in his commentary:
-
What is the current development of payment terminals, selfscanning and self-service checkouts?
-
Which of these are suitable for smaller stores and why?
"A new trend in the use of self-service kiosks is the integration in meat and sausage service outlets as well as in butcher shops. In this segment of outlets, the main motivation for owners is to achieve consistency between fast and efficient customer service and compliance with hygiene rules when paying for their order."
Michal than adds a practical example for illustration.
"A modern meat and sausage shop therefore requires the separation of the service of each section from the final payment. Payment is made at the WINSHOP self-service kiosk with the option of payment not only by card but also by the connected ALBACON cash deposit machine. The self-service kiosks are connected directly to BIZERBA's cash registers, which release the goods to the customer for collection after confirmation of payment."
