Ferenčík is a purely Czech company that has been in business for more than 30 years. Founded in 1991 in the historical premises of the castle gardening in Nové Hrady, where the first store was established. Soon the company expanded with a shop in České Velenice and then another shop in Trhové Sviny. In 2004, a horticultural shop was opened in Borek near České Budějovice. Another important step was joining the Association of Independent Family Garden Centres. Subsequently, in 2013, one of the largest family garden centres in the Czech Republic was built. It is a garden centre in České Budějovice, where customers will find not only a large selection of plants, decorations, but also a café. In 2020, an e-shop with a selected range of products was launched.

The biggest advantages of WinShop solution
The segment of sales of goods in garden centres is specific, working with an assortment of plants, cut and potted flowers and implies the use of tools for bouquet tying. It is also a seasonal sale with a lot of pressure on the POS system just during the seasonal peak period. At the same time, sales at portable terminals in the outdoor garden are used especially in the spring and summer months. WinShop analysts and programmers, in cooperation with representatives of the Association of Garden Centres, continuously add to the business, warehouse and POS system WinShop SQL new functionalities that significantly simplify the registration and sale of specific products and speed up the clearance of garden centre customers.

Implementation story
The Association of Independent Family Garden Centres is a professional association of legal entities and natural persons that sell the entire horticultural product range with an emphasis on plants and services in the industry. The association represents 11 large garden centres. At the beginning of 2017, the management of the Association launched a tender for a supplier of POS and warehouse systems for its members' premises. Our company was one of the potential suppliers approached. The brief included requirements for a range of essential functionalities to support the recording and sale of live plants, the creation of bouquet arrangements and the sale of other specific horticultural products. Along with the requirements for sales support, a requirement was formulated to create a communication interface for KARAT central ERP system. Our company prepared personalized offers for individual members of the association taking into account their specific requirements. We were successful in the tender with our solution proposal and started implementation in the individual garden centres of the Association at the end of 2017. In Zahradnictví Ferenčík, WinShop SQL Front Office POS applications, binding terminals and mobile applications for portable terminals were implemented.
