Kitos was founded in 2010 as a subsidiary of the wholesaler UTC. It is a chain of homeware stores that offers a large selection of products related to the well-being of the household. From cooking, dining, storage and cleaning supplies to equipment for family gatherings, everything can be found in brick-and-mortar stores or on the e-shop www.kitos.cz.

The biggest advantages of WinShop solution
Thanks to our long-term cooperation, we were able to deliver and customize a comprehensive information system for UTC, which forms the basis of all business and warehouse operations. WinShop SQL business system covers all the needs of stock records, provides a modern discount customer system and a wide range of promotions. WinShop SQL system production data is used for automated creation of analytical reports. The system is interfaced with UTC's wholesale application and imports individual delivery notes for stores. The stores use WinShop Std. POS system which is stable, user-friendly and hardware-light and is operationally independent of the central server from which it draws OFF LINE data at adjustable intervals.

Implementation story
The first meetings with UTC management took place in 2011. At that time, the owners were looking for a reliable POS and warehouse system for their planned network of Action (now Kitos) stores. The conditions for a new supplier of a POS and warehouse system were the delivery of a stable POS system with the possibility of centralized assortment management, connection to UTC's wholesale system and readiness for the planned development of the chain of homeware stores. Installation of the first stores started at the end of 2011. Over a period of 5 years, WinShop Std. system reliably fulfilled the role of the management information system and POS system at the company's 20 stores. During this time, the POS application at the stores was mainly adapted for the purpose of selling household goods and the required cash register and pricing functions, including the customer system, were integrated. Early in 2016, UTC required an upgrade of the central system by implementing more robust solution built on an MS SQL server database to better support the data requirements of the expanding product range and to enable a greater range of analytical and statistical functions. Based on a request from UTC management, our analysts proposed the deployment of WinShop SQL system for the company's headquarters and linking it to the existing WinShop Std. POS system at the stores. The entire upgrade of the central system was completed within two months and new solution was launched in September 2016.
